J. Scott Tapp

Executive Vice President, Global Sales, Marketing & Field Operations

Since 2010, Scott has served as Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing for PGi and was recently named EVP for Global Sales, Marketing and Field Operations where he is responsible for all of PGi’s Go-to-Market strategy and execution across the globe. He has more than 20 years of experience in technology, management, operations, venture capital and investment banking.

Scott previously started and served as SVP, General Manager of PGi’s Global Collaboration Services business where he built a platform for delivering collaboration technologies to the most complex global organizations in the world. He joined PGi in 2004 as SVP, Strategy and Business Development and is credited with leveraging PGi’s technologies to architect innovative market growth and expansion. He was responsible for ground-breaking deals with partners like SAP, Microsoft, Adobe, Tata Communications, Sprint/Nextel, Rogers Wireless and other leading technology companies.

Prior to PGi, Scott was a Principal at Fuqua Ventures and General Partner with Armada Ventures, investing in technology and services companies in the Southeast US. Scott was in the Corporate Finance group of Stephens Inc. in the mid 90’s assisting clients with M&A transactions and advisory services. He served in the US Navy working on networks and computer equipment for an aircraft squadron and graduated from the University of Georgia. While he studied at UGA, he also ran a small business. Scott is based in Georgia, where he and his wife are very active in their kids’ school and sports.
